DJI Phantom 2 vs Blade 350QX Return Home Accuracy Test – How Do They Compare?

The Return Home feature often found on the upper ranges of Quadcopters is awesome for making sure your Quadcopter doesn’t get lost and always finds it’s way back to you.

This is particularly important given the exceptional range modern Quadcopters can cover in a very short space of time. In another article here at Drones Home a DJI Phantom was shown to actually fly more than 10 miles -and with battery capacity to spare. Making sure that your quadcopter returns safely to you is vitally important.

But just how accurate is the Return Home feature and how do two Quadcopters, The DJI Phantom 2 and the Blade 350QX, compare in this respect?

It fact both did extremely well in these test flights. Both returning to within 3 or 4 feet of their starting points after several separate flights. That’s a real comfort when you consider the range of these Quadcopters and how quickly they can go out of sight.

The Return to Home feature is almost like a Panic Button and if needed, in an emergency. It will bring your valuable Quadcopter safely home to you.

In this DJI Phantom 2 vs Blade 350QX Return Home Accuracy Test video the Phantom actually has a GoPro camera slung underneath. although it is not active. The additional weight doesn’t seem to affect it’s home seeking accuracy to any large degree. Which makes sense as it is being guided by GPS and so as long as it is capable of carry the load it should make no difference at all to it’s positional accuracy.

It would be interesting to see how accurate this feature is on a less than calm day with a breeze or even wind blowing though.

This real-life DJI Phantom 2 vs Blade 350QX Return Home Accuracy Test is a good demonstration of just how accurate the Return Home feature of these two fine Quadcopters actually is!
