From Beginner to Backup, it works I started out with a DX6i, and it was DSM2. I still use the DX6i radio as a backup and buddy box radio (to train new pilots). It is for minimalists and pure pilots who are more skilled and adept at actually flying the aircraft, rather than having the radio be a crutch. The latest DX6i radios now operate in DSMX, which has a more diverse spread spektrum than DSM, or DSM2.

Great first or twentieth computer radio There are fancier computer radios, also with fancier price tags. For my purposes this one has all I need. Some say the scroll wheel is clumsy. I have no problem with it. There is a short learning curve, then the radio is very easy to program. It works very well with my Nano CP X, which is all I have bound to it at this time.
